Chief Minister's eye on major development projects of Bihar, order to speed up the work

Patna, September 22: Chief Minister Samrat Chaudhary has directed to speed up the implementation of development projects worth over Rs 100 crore in the state and complete them within the stipulated period. He asked the officers to ensure constant monitoring of projects, better coordination between departments and special attention to quality of construction works. The Chief Minister today reviewed the progress of centrally sponsored and state schemes along with major projects marked under 'Bihar Gati' at 'Sankalp' Sabhagar at Lok Sevak Awas. In the meeting, detailed status of important projects related to road construction, water resources, industry and social welfare was presented. During the review of Sultanganj-Tarapur-Singrampur-Belhar-Katoria-Chandan-Dardamara road, the Chief Minister directed to prepare a detailed plan to convert the stretch up to 40 km from Sultanganj to four lanes. He also asked to ensure the construction of four lane road from Belhar to Dardamara. The Chief Minister directed to speed up the process by preparing a plan keeping in mind the future traffic requirements. The project of drinking water supply in Aurangabad, Sasaram and Dehri was also reviewed. Under the project, the surface water of Son River will be used for drinking purposes. The Chief Minister directed to complete the work within the stipulated period by continuously monitoring the quality and progress of the work. In connection with the construction of barrage on the Kamala river in Madhubani district, the Chief Minister also asked to speed up the work and complete all necessary operations on time, so that the benefits of the irrigation projects can be provided to the farmers in time. During the review of industrial projects, the Chief Minister directed to inaugurate the Integrated Manufacturing Cluster (IMC) being set up at Gaya under the Amritsar-Kolkata Industrial Corridor in the second week of October. According to the government, an investment of about 20 thousand crore rupees is expected in Bihar from the start of this cluster. The meeting also discussed the possibilities of connecting canals and river embankments of South Bihar with solar energy. The Chief Minister directed the concerned officers to study the possibilities and prepare an action plan. He stressed on maximum use of solar energy and better utilization of available resources. Social welfare and ICDS schemes, including Saksham Anganbari and Potion 2.0, Mission Shakti-Samarth and food scheme for adolescent girls, were also reviewed. He said that the benefits of welfare and nutrition schemes related to women and children should reach the beneficiaries in time and their implementation should be regularly reviewed. The Chief Minister said that projects worth more than Rs 100 crore under 'Bihar Gati' are important for the infrastructure and development of the state. Delays in road, drinking water, irrigation, industrial, energy and social sector projects should be removed immediately. He directed the officers to have regular monitoring of major projects in every department and wherever obstacles are encountered, they should be identified and resolved immediately.
