Patna (ABN) Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary today laid the foundation stone of the permanent campus of National Skill Training Institute (Women) Patna at Bhata's Sikandarpur through remote via video conferencing from Lok Sevak Awas situated Sankalp Auditorium. Addressing the program organized on the occasion, the Chief Minister said that it is a matter of great joy that the foundation stone of National Skill Training Institute (Women) Patna has been laid at Sikandarpur, Bihta today. The Chief Minister said that skill development is the strong foundation of a prosperous Bihar. By making the youth, especially women, strong with modern technical skills, the vision of a prosperous Bihar and a developed India can be fulfilled. Jannayak Karpoori Thakur Skill University, named after Bharat Ratna Karpoori Thakur, is being built. The state government is working continuously to provide standard training, technical education, and better employment opportunities to the youth. He said that about 1500 skill training centers are currently operating in the state. About 12 lakh youths have been trained so far. At present, 1 lakh 38 thousand youths are undergoing training. Youths are being trained according to the needs of the industries. The Chief Minister said that 38 engineering colleges and 46 polytechnic institutes are running in Bihar. Bihar's government engineering colleges are providing standard technical education at just Rs 10 as fees. In polytechnic institutes, children are being taught at just Rs 5 as fees. This is providing an opportunity for students from economically weaker sections to get higher technical education, and skilled human resources are being produced in the state. Language labs have also been set up in engineering colleges and polytechnic institutes, where students are learning languages like Japanese, German, and French. He said that the objective of skill development is not only to prepare the youth for jobs but also to make them capable of setting up their own institutions and creating employment opportunities for others. He expressed confidence that the permanent campus of National Skill Training Institute (Women), Patna will become a major center for empowering women with skill, self-reliance, and economic empowerment and will play an important role in building a prosperous Bihar. Prime Minister Narendra Modi has launched the Skill India Mission and created a separate ministry for this purpose. Skilled youth will play a crucial role in fulfilling the Prime Minister's vision of a developed India by 2047. The youth of Bihar are determined to fulfill the dream of a prosperous Bihar of former Chief Minister Nitish Kumar. It is considered a major step towards providing international standard skill training to the youth of Bihar and providing them employment opportunities abroad. The objective of establishing the National Skill Training Institute (Women) is to make the girls of the state skilled and employable by providing them with modern technical and professional training. So far, many young women from Bihar had to go to other states for such training, but with the construction of the institute's permanent campus, they will get standard training within their own state. The Government of Bihar has provided four acres of land free of cost for the construction of the institute, and the construction of the building will cost around Rs 99.97 crore. During the program, a message from the Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Skill Development and Entrepreneurship, Government of India, Rajiv Chandrashekhar was also heard. During the program, the Minister of Youth, Employment, and Skill Development, Alok Kumar Choudhary welcomed the Chief Minister by presenting him with a green plant and a memento. During the program, a video film was shown on the construction of the permanent campus of National Skill Training Institute (Women) Patna at Bhata's Sikandarpur.
