Patna, 17 April (ABN) Bihar Pradesh Congress President Rajesh Ram, reacting to the formation of the new government in Bihar, said that Nitish Kumar, who has been at the center of state politics for the past 20 years, deserved a better exit. Rajesh Ram told UNI that the National Democratic Alliance (NDA), which led the 2025 Bihar election, removing its leader from office just five months later, makes clear the political ambitions of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in the state. He said that there are examples of several other states like Maharashtra, where Eknath Shinde, the BJP has reduced the status of its allies. He said that over time, the BJP's allies lose their importance. The Congress president said, in response to Union Minister and JD(U) senior leader Lalan Singh's statement that the Congress is weak, that he should worry about his own party, which is being finished off by its own ally, the BJP. He also acknowledged that the Congress organization in Bihar has been going through a phase of reorganization over the past few years and needs to be strengthened further. Rajesh Ram said that the Congress has launched a special "Sarjan Sathi Jan Sampark Abhiyan" to strengthen the organization in the state, through which a large team of dedicated workers will be prepared. The party's goal is to create a team of five lakh workers who will take the Congress ideology to the people. He said that soon, the Congress organization in Bihar will be seen in a new form, where even ordinary workers will be able to connect directly with the top leadership through digital means. Rajesh Ram, on the lack of discipline in the party and the absence of three MLAs during the recently held Rajya Sabha elections, said that the report regarding these members has been sent to the party high command and a decision will be taken soon. He acknowledged that some weaknesses have been exposed in terms of discipline, which the party is seriously considering and improvement will be seen soon. The Congress state president said that during the last elections in Bihar, the party's vote bank could not be converted into seats due to several reasons, but with the strengthening of the organization, there will be an increase in both. He said that the Congress has a historical connection and even today, there are many families in the state who have been associated with the party for generations. He said that the Congress will try to regain this emotional and mental connection and attempt to reconnect people with the party once again. Rajesh Ram also acknowledged that in the political arena, the Congress in Bihar has little to lose now, but a lot to gain.
