Allah, the Lord of Honor, sent prophets to every nation to guide and reform society. This series was completed with our master, the leader of the universe, Hazrat Muhammad Mustafa (peace be upon him). After him, since the door of revelation was closed, Allah Almighty chose the noble saints to guide and reform the Ummah out of His mercy.
The noble saints continued to invite people to Allah, the Lord of Honor, through their good morals, righteous deeds, and outward miracles, and they suppressed the innovations, temptations, and misguidance that arose in every era. Among these great noble saints is a very dignified and high-ranking personality, Hazrat Khwaja Moinuddin Chishti Ajmeri (may Allah have mercy on him). Allah Almighty honored him with the office of Wilayat in a tumultuous era when oppression and tyranny were rampant, misguidance was widespread, and people were astray in both beliefs and actions.
In such delicate and difficult circumstances, Allah, the Lord of Honor, granted Sultan-ul-Hind, Khwaja Moinuddin Chishti (may Allah have mercy on him), Wilayat. He performed the great duty of spreading and preaching Islam solely for the sake of Allah's pleasure and, through his good morals, love, tolerance, and service to humanity, attracted millions of people to the path of guidance and social reform.
Hazrat Khwaja Moinuddin Chishti (may Allah have mercy on him) was a great spiritual leader and a perfect saint of the Indian subcontinent. Allah Almighty had blessed him with a high rank, numerous miracles, and strong knowledge of both the apparent and hidden worlds. He had special proximity to the Divine Court and was a manifestation of Divine Lights. He was entrusted with the great responsibility by the Holy Prophet (peace be upon him) to guide the people of India out of the darkness of polytheism and infidelity and to enlighten them with the light of monotheism and faith.
Allah Almighty had placed such an effect in his gaze that whoever he looked at with attention would immediately become a believer in the oneness of God and the prophethood of Muhammad (peace be upon him). His generosity, love, morals, and service to humanity are famous all over the world.
Hazrat Khwaja Moinuddin Chishti (may Allah have mercy on him) was related to the family of Syeds and was a noble Syed. His lineage goes back to the Holy Prophet (peace be upon him), Hazrat Ali Murtaza, and Syeda Fatima Zahra (may Allah be pleased with them), and their son, Syed ush-Shuhada, Hazrat Imam Hussein (may Allah be pleased with him).
The perfection and blessings of Hazrat Khwaja Moinuddin Chishti (may Allah have mercy on him) are evident from the fact that from Hazrat Adam (peace be upon him) to the time of the Holy Prophet (peace be upon him), no prophet was sent to the land of India. Then, after the prophethood of the Holy Prophet (peace be upon him), for about five hundred years, Allah Almighty did not grant any saint like him the great power to illuminate the entire India, which had been plunged in the darkness of polytheism for centuries, with the light of monotheism.
This fact is as clear as the sun. A great saint of that era described this situation in the following verses:
Everyone was ignorant of the command of the Shari'ah
Everyone was unaware of God and the Prophet
Never did anyone see the Mi'raj of the Qiblah
Never did anyone hear the cry of "Allahu Akbar"
That is, people were ignorant of the commands of the Shari'ah, unaware of God and the Prophet (peace be upon him); they did not know the Qiblah, and they never heard the call of "Allahu Akbar". But due to the blessings of the great Khwaja, the same land was transformed in such a way:
In place of the cross of the church
Where the cry of the polytheists used to be
Now there is the mosque, the mihrab, and the minbar
Now there is the cry of "Allahu Akbar"
