Mansoon session's first day witnesses Akhtarul Iman's strong protest over minority issues

Patna, July 21 (ABN) On the first day of the monsoon session of the Bihar Assembly, Akhtarul Iman, the national general secretary of the All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) and the party's leader in the Bihar Assembly, protested in the Assembly premises over important issues related to minorities. On this occasion, he accused the government of continuously ignoring the educational, social, and economic problems of the minority community, saying that if the government does not take effective measures immediately, these problems will become more serious.

During the protest, Akhtarul Iman demanded that the government restore the salaries of teachers of affiliated madrasas in the state without delay. He said that thousands of teachers have been facing financial crises for a long time and their families are living in severe economic difficulties. He stated that not paying teachers' salaries on time is not only unfair to them but also harmful to the state's education system.

He also raised tough questions about the government's policy on the Urdu language, saying that Urdu is the second official language of Bihar, but its status is not being respected at the grassroots level. Urdu departments are not active in the state's government degree colleges, and many Urdu teacher positions are vacant, making it difficult for students to receive higher education in their mother tongue.

Akhtarul Iman demanded that Urdu education be made effective in all government colleges in Bihar, all approved Urdu departments and positions be restored, vacant positions be filled immediately, and Urdu education be started soon where it is not available. He said that ignoring the educational development, language promotion, and employment issues of minorities is against the principles of equality and social justice in the Indian Constitution. It is the government's responsibility to protect the constitutional rights of the minority community and fulfill their legitimate demands on a priority basis.

Akhtarul Iman further said that the problems of affiliated madrasa teachers, Urdu language, and minority institutions are not new, but have been pending for years. If the government is really serious about education and social justice, it should take practical steps to find a permanent solution to these problems immediately.

He warned that if the government does not make a decision soon on the demands related to minority issues, madrasa teachers' salaries, and the Urdu language, the protest movement will be expanded in a democratic manner both inside and outside the House.

The protest on the first day of the monsoon session has once again made the issues of minority education, affiliated madrasas, and the Urdu language an important topic of political and public debate in Bihar.

Akhtarul Iman demanded that the government restore Urdu teachers in all government degree colleges and ensure the permanent appointment of teachers where Urdu education is not properly arranged. He said that this is not just an issue of the Urdu language but also a matter of students' constitutional and educational rights.

He demanded the immediate payment of the pending salaries of affiliated madrasa teachers, saying that the government should solve this problem on a priority basis instead of prolonging it, so that teachers can get rid of economic difficulties.

Akhtarul Iman said that ignoring the educational problems of the minority community is not in the interest of the state.

He said that incidents of lynching are a serious challenge to the rule of law and require immediate and effective action against those involved in such crimes, so that elements that spread fear and terror in society can be discouraged.

Akhtarul Iman demanded that all lynching cases be tried in fast-track courts on a priority basis and the culprits be given severe punishment according to the law as soon as possible. He said that timely and decisive action on such incidents can only strengthen public confidence in the law.

He also appealed to the government to adopt an effective strategy to prevent lynching incidents, provide immediate justice and adequate compensation to the affected families, and ensure that no innocent citizen becomes a victim of mob violence.

In his address, Akhtarul Iman demanded that those involved in serious crimes like lynching be tried through speedy trials and, if found guilty, be given the death penalty, so that such incidents can be effectively prevented in the future.
