Professor Qamarul Hadi Faridi is being congratulated with heartfelt felicitations

On the morning of Sunday, February 1, I received the delightful news that renowned researcher, critic, and scholar of mysticism, Professor Dr. Muhammad Qamarul Huda Faridi, Head of the Urdu Department, Aligarh Muslim University, had been elected as a distinguished member of the Aligarh Muslim University Court. As soon as I received the news, my heart was filled with joy, and I immediately congratulated Professor Faridi on WhatsApp. Professor Faridi was surprised to receive this honor, as he has always kept a distance from worldly fame, but this news reinforced his faith in the blessings of Allah and the spiritual benevolence of the elders.

As I reflected on Professor Faridi's personality, I was reminded of his numerous notable aspects, and his kindness and generosity touched my heart. I had come to know of Professor Faridi during my student days, and I had started reading his articles during that time. When I went to the Central Darul Ifta, Patna, for training in ifta, I found one of his writings in an old file of "Rafiqat". Later, I read his book "Bazaban Hikayat" by Allama Arshad Qadri, which was introduced to me by his son-in-law, Haseebur Rehman Sanjar Ali. After reading the introduction, I became a fan of Professor Faridi's writing style.

I met Professor Faridi for the first time in 2013, when he visited the Mithila University, Darbhanga, to receive his Viva Voce. His brother-in-law, Rouhullah Khan, was a friend of mine, and it was through him that I met Professor Faridi. During our first meeting, Professor Faridi showed me immense kindness and humility. I presented him with the manuscript of my book, "Kawash Naqd", and he not only encouraged me but also wrote a review of the book. His review was widely appreciated, and the critics praised his thoughts on the book.

When I completed my MA in Urdu from Maulana Azad National Urdu University, Hyderabad, I decided to pursue my Ph.D. from Magadh University, Bodh Gaya. Professor Faridi was one of the examiners of my Ph.D. thesis, and he submitted his report, which helped me to complete my Viva Voce in 2023. During the Viva Voce, Professor Faridi's behavior was exemplary, and he showed great kindness and humility.

After the Viva Voce, I accompanied Professor Faridi to the Khanqah Faridia, Ara, where we were received with great respect and hospitality. Professor Faridi's simplicity and humility were evident in his behavior, and I was touched by his kindness. When I met the Sajjada Nashin of the Khanqah, Maulana Abdul Salam Faridi, he blessed me and prayed for my well-being. Professor Faridi also gave me some money as a gift, which I initially refused, but he insisted that I accept it.

Professor Qamarul Huda Faridi was born in 1962 in Lakhanpur, Monghyr. He has written over a dozen books and more than a hundred articles. He has also cleared the NET and JRF exams and was appointed as a lecturer in the Urdu Department of Aligarh Muslim University in 1993. I once again congratulate Professor Faridi on his election as a member of the Aligarh Muslim University Court and pray that Allah grants him more success and prosperity in his life and career. Ameen.
