Patna, September 18 (ABN) Governor Lt Gen (retd) Syed Atta Hasnain said that Rahi Masoom Raza kept the common cultural heritage of India alive in his writings and effectively portrayed the life, relationships and experiences of common people in literature. Addressing the 'Patna Seminar' held at Bihar Museum, Patna on the occasion of Dr. Raza's birth centenary on Thursday, Mr. Hasnain said that Rahi Masoom Raza was a poet, novelist and film dialogue writer. He was also the best writer to understand and explain India. His words came out of books and became a part of people's lives and memories. The governor said that Dr. Raza saw India through the eyes of common people and presented it in his works. In his writings, a deep picture of village, home, family, friendship and relationships is seen. In 'Aadha Gaon', Ganguly is not just the background of the story but becomes an important part of the story itself. He also brought forward the pain of partition through the relationships and life of common people. Mr. Hasnain said that the language of Rahi Masoom Raza was the common Indian language, in which Hindi, Urdu, Bhojpuri and colloquial words were mixed naturally. They carried different parts of their identity with them. Along with Ghalib and Mir, Kabir and Tulsi were also part of their common inheritance. He used to call himself 'Gangapati' with pride.
