Health Minister said: There will be no shortage of teachers and resources
Patna: (ABN) There has been a significant development towards the promotion of medical education in Bihar. The National Medical Commission (NMC) has given permission to start MBBS courses at Shri Ram Janki Medical College and Hospital, Samastipur and Rajkia Medical College, Chapra (Saran) from the academic session 2026-27. Both the colleges will have 50, 50 seats each. The Medical Assessment and Rating Board (MARB) of NMC has issued letters of permission to both institutions. This approval will increase the opportunities for medical education in the state and will provide a large number of trained doctors in the future. According to the health department, the new medical colleges will not only give the students an opportunity to get medical education in their area, but the services of specialist doctors and modern treatment facilities in the respective hospitals will also be strengthened. Health Minister Nishant thanked the central government and said that the approval of MBBS seats in Samastipur and Saran is an important achievement for Bihar. He said that there will be no shortage of teachers and resources necessary for education in the medical colleges of the state. He said that the aim of the government is to provide quality and expert medical services to the people in their locality. The addition of new medical colleges and MBBS seats is an important step towards this goal. This will further strengthen the infrastructure of health services along with medical education in Bihar.
