The government has assured the opposition that all their issues will be discussed and information about the bills to be introduced during the session will be provided to the opposition parties in advance, during the all-party meeting held here on Sunday ahead of the monsoon session of Parliament. After a meeting that lasted for almost three hours, Parliamentary Affairs Minister Kiren Rijiju told reporters that the all-party meeting was held in a good and cordial atmosphere, in which all political parties presented their suggestions and ideas. The government has heard all the suggestions seriously and considered them. He said that in parliamentary democracy, every party has complete freedom to put forth their views and the government wants the proceedings of Parliament to run smoothly. He said that the government is ready to discuss all the issues raised by the opposition. Currently, eight bills have been listed for the monsoon session, and if there is any additional legislative work, its information will also be provided to the political parties in advance, according to parliamentary traditions. He said that disrupting the proceedings of Parliament does not benefit anyone politically, but democracy is affected and the time and money of the people are wasted. Regarding the walkout by the opposition over the invitation to the 20 MPs who broke away from the Trinamool Congress to the all-party meeting, Mr. Rijiju said that these MPs have requested the Lok Sabha Speaker to recognize them as the National Citizens' Party of India, which is being considered. It is the responsibility of the government that no member of Parliament should be deprived of their rights, and that is why all members of Parliament were invited to the meeting. According to sources, there were also questions and answers between the leaders of some parties during the meeting. During the meeting, Janata Dal (U) general secretary Sanjay Jha mentioned the situation in West Asia and said that the conditions there were not created by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, but his leadership and management during the crisis were commendable. On this, CPI(M) MP John Brittas said that the current situation in West Asia has arisen due to a friend of the Prime Minister. After the meeting, NCP MP Sudeep Bandopadhyay, who represented his party, said that his party has been asked to apply for recognition from the Election Commission, and a letter regarding this will be submitted to the Lok Sabha Speaker. He said that in the House, political parties should get representation according to their actual numbers, and the opposition should also be given proper opportunities. It is clear that the monsoon session of Parliament will run from July 20 to August 13. In this four-week session, a total of 19 sittings have been proposed, in which eight bills are likely to be introduced.
