Patna, May 2 (ABN) Deputy Chief Minister and senior JDU leader Vijay Choudhary said on Saturday that the NDA government in the state will not compromise with crime, corruption, and communalism in any way.
Mr. Choudhary said that even though the Chief Minister has changed in Bihar, the government will run according to Nitish Kumar's policies and thinking for the next five years. He said that the opposition is trying to scare minorities in the name of the BJP. He further said that before the election, the alliance had said that 'from 25 to 30, then Nitish, and the state will run in the same way as Nitish Kumar wants for the next five years.
The Deputy Chief Minister assured that no minority in Bihar needs to be frightened. He said that the new Chief Minister of Bihar, Tejashwi Yadav's brother-in-law, and RJD leader Tej Pratap's brother-in-law, Samrat Choudhary, had also said in the assembly that his government will not compromise with 'crime, corruption, and communalism'. He clarified that the Bihar government is firm on its 'zero tolerance' policy towards communalism.
Mr. Choudhary said that before 2005, governments used to tell minorities that their rule was necessary for their protection. He said that the responsibility of any government is not limited to just protecting citizens, but it also has to ensure that people's economic condition improves. He said that minorities have also benefited equally from Nitish Kumar's schemes. He gave the example that while distributing uniforms in schools, no discriminatory behavior was shown, and schemes like 'Student Credit Card' have also helped weak students.
The Deputy Chief Minister said that the opposition unnecessarily inflates issues and misleads minorities, especially Muslims. He said that seven or eight years ago, it was said about the Citizenship Amendment Act that it was brought to end the citizenship of Muslims. He asked, "Can anyone tell how many Muslims have been stripped of their citizenship so far?" He further said that similarly, during the Waqf Amendment Act, people were misled that the government wanted to grab Waqf Board properties.
Mr. Choudhary mentioned SIR and said that it was propagated that it was being used to cut names from voter lists in the name of minorities, while the fact is that not a single complaint has come to the Election Commission in Bihar.
Mr. Choudhary said that the minorities in Bihar have now understood the intentions of the opposition and will not be misled. He said that between 2005 and 2025, there has been a significant improvement in the economic condition of minority society in Bihar. He informed that arrangements have been made for the education and coaching of Muslim children at the Haj Bhavan in Patna, and a girl who received coaching from there has been selected for the Indian Administrative Service.
The Deputy Chief Minister criticized the opposition, saying that they have expertise in making the real helper a culprit and hiding their own sins to pretend to be sympathizers. He assured the minority community that the government is aware of their interests and will continue to work for their betterment as before.
