The Modi government is targeting Punjab: Kejriwal

Awaz E Bihar•9 May 2026 at 05:27 pm•18 views•3 min read

Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) national convener Arvind Kejriwal said on Saturday that investigative agencies under the Modi government are working to break other parties, intimidate their leaders, and induct them into the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). Kejriwal said at a press conference here that the Enforcement Directorate (ED) is raiding the residence of Punjab Minister Sanjeev Arora. The ED's job is to stop and investigate money laundering within the country. If the ED takes action for this purpose, we have no problem, but since the Modi government has come to power, the CBI does not work to stop corruption, nor does the ED work to stop money laundering. They only work to break other parties, intimidate their leaders, and induct them into the BJP.

He said that the ED has not come to Sanjeev Arora's house to investigate money laundering, but this is the second ED raid at his place within the last one month. Prior to this, on April 17, the ED had raided Arora's residences in Gurgaon, Ludhiana, and Delhi, which lasted for three days. What did the ED not find in those three days that they have come to search for today? At the same time, a raid was also conducted at the residence of Ashok Mittal, which also lasted for three days, and after that, Mittal joined the BJP. After that, the raids at his place stopped, and his entire case was dismissed.

Kejriwal said that Sanjeev Arora did not join the BJP. On that day, a lot of pressure was put on Arora to join the BJP. If he had joined the BJP that day, perhaps the ED raid would not have taken place today. Today's ED action is to teach him a lesson for not joining the BJP. Either join the BJP or be arrested. That's why the ED raid took place today. It's very sad that under the Modi regime, agencies are being openly misused.

He said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi is particularly targeting Punjab. The people of Punjab are being treated unfairly and oppressed. An attempt is being made to crush the people of Punjab. For the past four years, the Prime Minister has withheld thousands of crores of rupees meant for rural development, which is used to build markets and village roads. An attempt was made to take over Punjab University.

He further said that an attempt is being made to transfer Chandigarh to Haryana and snatch it from Punjab. An attempt is being made to loot Punjab's water and take over the BBMB. There are countless cases where the central government is committing excesses against the people of Punjab. For the past few days, there has been only one news every day - that the ED has conducted a raid here, a raid there. As soon as the Bengal elections ended, the entire ED team from Delhi went to Punjab. Their goal is not to find black money or money laundering.
