The Uttar Pradesh Assembly's monsoon session will commence on Monday. During the session, there is a possibility of bitter exchanges and chaos between the ruling party and the opposition. The Bharatiya Janata Party will present the achievements of its government over the past 10 years in the House, while the Samajwadi Party and Congress are preparing to corner the government on issues such as the Ram Temple's gold ornament theft, law and order situation, and other public interest matters.
Opposition leader and senior Samajwadi Party leader Mata Prasad Pandey said that the opposition is fully prepared and the issue of Ram Temple's gold ornament theft will be raised prominently in the House. He alleged that the government wants to avoid its responsibilities by keeping the session short. The opposition is also likely to corner the government over the proposed arrangements and guidelines issued by the government in view of the Sawan month and Kanwar Yatra.
According to the possible program of the Assembly, on the first day, tributes may be paid to the deceased members. The supplementary budget is likely to be presented on August 4. On August 5, legislative business and other official work will be carried out, while on August 6, the session is likely to conclude after a discussion on the supplementary budget.
Congress Legislative Party leader Aradhana Mishra also said that the issue of Ram Temple's gold ornament theft is serious and the government will have to answer for it. She said that apart from this, several other public interest issues will be raised in the House.
A day before the session began, on Sunday, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath appealed to all parties to conduct the House proceedings smoothly and have a healthy and meaningful discussion on public interest issues during the all-party meeting held at the Vidhan Bhavan. Assembly Speaker Satish Mahana also requested all parties to cooperate in maintaining the dignity of the House.
During the all-party meeting, the Chief Minister said that in the monsoon session of the Assembly starting from August 3, there should be a positive discussion on issues related to the common people. He said that in a democratic system, the House is the most effective platform for solving people's problems, and it is the responsibility of public representatives to raise every issue related to public interest seriously in the House.
In view of the monsoon session, extensive security arrangements have been made in the state capital Lucknow. A special traffic plan has been implemented to maintain the traffic system around the Assembly and its surrounding areas. However, ambulances and school buses will be allowed to pass through the restricted routes.
